Repositioning AED devices as fleet increases

AED Defib Icon

Thank you all for your support in repurposing our ventilators, they have now been reallocated to hospitals across the region ready for use in the coming days.

We are now looking to significantly increase our own fleet by repositioning AED devices from existing front line resources into additional vehicles.

Like the ventilators, these AEDs are rarely used and and are a resource we cannot hold in reserve given the current circumstances. We have been working closely with our colleagues in Unison health and safety who jointly support this decision.

All current front-line vehicles will retain their Corpuls devices.

We will begin withdrawing the devices immediately and will then rapidly stock the additional vehicles as they come into service over the next few weeks. We will also relocate other AEDs to prioritise this additional resource, for example from spare stock or those being used on managers cars not being used to respond to patients.

Thank you in advance for your support with this.

We remain immensely grateful for the commitment and efforts of colleagues in all the roles being undertaken within EEAST.
