Research Skills Course

An online ‘Research Skills for Clinicians’ course has been designed for allied health professionals, nurses, midwives and medical trainees who are not (yet) research active but are interested in research skills and knowledge.

The course, which is being held via Zoom on the 23rd and 24th January 2021, consists of a programme of talks, practical exercises and worked examples.
The sessions include:

  • Introduction to principles and processes of clinical research
  • Formulating research questions and study design
  • Introduction to understanding statistical considerations in clinical research
  • Understanding and applying the key concepts relevant to research ethics
  • Writing and presenting a scientific paper / poster
  • Integrating clinical research into a clinical career and how to get started
  • Opportunities to talk to high calibre research clinicians

This course has been commissioned and is subsided by the NHS Health Education East of England.
Up to 5 places will be part-funded: Subsidised Fee: £50 (great value for money!)

To apply, candidates must: be employed in the East of England; have completed a healthcare related degree course; have specialist knowledge in a respective field and be seeking to become involved in developing clinical research studies relevant to their profession.
