Running a rainbow for Oscar

A group of PTS and HR staff have helped brighten the future of a former colleague’s son thanks to an after-hours activity with a difference.

Clare, Karyn, Michele, Stacey, Michelle and Liz completed the 10K Twilight Colourthon in Southend earlier this month, raising £1,095.66 for Oscar’s Journey.

Their colleague Caroline was unable to return to work as she is a full-time carer for son Oscar. Due to complications at birth, Oscar suffered severe lack of oxygen to the brain and required resuscitation following an emergency Caesarean. Oscar has severe quadriplegic cerebral palsy and requires round the clock care.

The 10k walk involves dressing as brightly and imaginatively as possible, and Karyn said the team were overwhelmed with support: “All of the money raised will be going towards Oscar’s ongoing treatment and therapies.”
