#SaferSleep for Babies: join the campaign

EEAST RRVs and amb on scene

Essex council have launched a campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of poor sleeping conditions and co-sleeping risks for young babies.

Taking place from Monday 12th June for two weeks, the social media campaign will promote safer sleep habits, which if followed, can significantly reduce the risk of sudden unexpected deaths in infants (SUDIs).

The campaign will aim to encourage parents and carers to seek support and advice from their midwife or health visitor or online resources on things like bedtime routines, giving up smoking and getting enough rest as a parent.

Professionals who work closely with families with young children are also encouraged to use available resources to support them in discussing safer sleep habits and co-sleeping risks.

You can join the campaign by following Essex Safeguarding Children Board on Twitter and Facebook between now and 23rd June to share and like the posts using the hashtags #YearofSaferSleep and #SaferSleep.
