Sarah-Jane Cunningham

Sarah Jane Cunningham

The Trust is deeply saddened to share the news that our much-loved colleague, Sarah-Jane Cunningham, passed away at the weekend.

Sarah-Jane, or SJ as many of us knew her, joined the service in 2008 and was a HR Business Partner based in Norwich. Sarah-Jane was widely known and hugely respected throughout the service, having worked alongside and supported colleagues from every aspect of EEAST.

Naturally fun-loving, caring and kind, SJ loved working here and often said she felt like the ambulance service was her ‘extended family’. Her warmth meant that she was not just a colleague but a friend to many, and our thoughts are very much with them and SJ’s family at this very sad time.

We know that many of you will wish to join SJ’s family in celebrating her life and saying goodbye, so we will share her funeral arrangements as soon as we can. In the meantime, we are gathering messages from the service to share with SJ’s family; if you would like to take part, please email your message to her close friend and colleague, Nick Jones, at nicholas.jones@eastamb.nhs.uk.

If you’ve been affected by Sarah-Jane’s death, please remember that the Trust’s employee assistance programme is available at any time to provide you with support should you need it. It’s free, confidential, runs 24/7 and can be accessed either on the phone or online. Just visit www.well-online.co.uk (user name: EEASTlogin, password: wellbeing), or call 0800 085 1376.

Our Health and Wellbeing Manager, Debra Winterson, can also be reached at debra.winterson@eastamb.nhs.uk to provide guidance on what help is available to you, including how to contact our chaplains for support, or how to access specialist, more personalised care.
