South Beds waves farewell to DLO Stuart after 37 years

Last week, EEAST said a fond farewell to Duty Locality Officer, Stuart Clarke after 37 years in the ambulance service.

Stuart, a DLO based at Luton, completed his final shift last Tuesday (18th July) having joined Bedfordshire Ambulance Service in 1980.

His friends and colleagues see him as inspiring and committed to his role as a paramedic and manager and he will be greatly missed by everyone.

Simon King, Sector head for Bedfordshire and Luton, said:  “We will miss Stuart enormously.  The messages we have received have shown just how greatly admired he is and what affection there is for amongst the staff.  I have been inspired by him and learnt plenty from him, as I believe everyone who has had the pleasure to work alongside him has.  I’m really disappointed that he’s leaving us but delighted that he is retiring fit and healthy.”
