Staff thanked after joint resilience exercise

Crews from EEAST put their best foot forward and took part in a multi-agency resilience exercise in Hertfordshire last week (29th November).

The exercise, which also involved the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, saw teams dealing with nine patients with a range of injuries, both critical and minor, from a four-vehicle road traffic collision.

Paramedic James Pearson from Bishops Stortford, who planned and managed the operation alongside colleague Linda, said: “Interoperability was a huge theme of the exercise and the fire service did a fantastic job as usual managing the scene, extricating trapped patients and using their trauma training complimented by our own clinicians when they arrived on scene.

“Paramedic Tutor from Anglia Ruskin University, Richard, kindly brought 10 students along with him - three of who crewed an ambulance with paramedics Mark and Rob, and Emergency Medical Technician Adam. The other seven students did a fantastic job of acting as casualties.”
