Join #ProjectA's collaborative event 'Staff Wellbeing – Creating Safe Spaces for Ourselves and our Colleagues' on 5th March to help improve the services staff receive with regard to their wellbeing.

About #ProjectA

#ProjectA is a programme of work undertaken by NHS Horizons in conjunction with the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE) to engage frontline ambulance staff in developing ideas for improvement. It was commissioned directly by Simon Stevens and features in the NHS Plan as a supported programme of work by NHS England.

#ProjectA has been pacey and interactive; based on real ideas for improvement sourced directly from frontline ambulance staff. Over the summer, 608 ideas for improvement were posted to an ideas platform and the programme has developed into a number of ‘improvement collaboratives.’

Improvement collaboratives 

One of these collaboratives is ‘action on staff wellbeing’. The aim of the collaborative is to improve the services staff receive with regard to their wellbeing and ensure that the frontline voice is included in the work of national groups, especially in relation to human resources, organisational development and wellbeing. In particular, the collaborative wants to advance the concept of creating safe spaces for groups of staff and individuals to discuss their wellbeing and potential distress following harrowing events or stressful situations, particularly in the work environment. The aim is for the work to be relevant to every ambulance service with improved health and wellbeing of ambulance service staff.

#ProjectA are arranging an Accelerated Design event for the 5th March to explore these themes. Accelerated Design is a proven methodology that allows people to come together and work intensively on a specific purpose. They would really value your input and attendance on the day.

Getting there

The event will take place at Mary Ward House, 5-7 Tavistock Place, London, WC1H 9SN (a short walk from Euston Station). 

Start time – 10.00am (tea and coffee available from 9.30am)

End time – 4.00pm

Lunch and tea and coffee will be provided.


#ProjectA would really like you to attend on the 5th March and therefore please let lynsey.oates@nhs.net know if you are able to help contribute to this event on the Ambulance Service response wellbeing for staff and colleagues.

They would welcome attendance from a range of people, so do feel free to pass on this invite to others who have an interest in the wellbeing agenda within ambulance services.
