Steve Sale

Following the announcement of the sad news of Steve Sale this week, there is a memory book available for all staff to share their fondest memories.

Steve worked for the ambulance service for nearly 21 years. Steve was the Community Partnership Manager when the South Woodham Ferrers Community First Responders began in 2000, and was the group’s first and longstanding clinical link. He then worked out on the road as an emergency care practitioner (ECP) for many years, before becoming one of the original clinical co-ordinators in Chelmsford EOC and was a pivotal member of the team.

For those of you who knew Steve, you will know that we have lost a wonderful guy, a great friend and manager, an excellent ECP and all round lovely man. He will be very much missed.

Peter Blackman, Community First Responder in Essex said: “What a privilege and inspiration it was to work with Steve. His input to the group, Essex, East of England and national CFRing has been invaluable. Steve was always friendly, supportive, wise, positive and humorous. It is a tragedy to lose him, but we can also celebrate a great life of service.”

We are putting together a memory book for Steve’s family and we want colleagues to send in your memories and stories about Steve so that we can include them in the book. We will then present the family with the book; something they can cherish and which recognises the huge respect Steve was held in and how many lives he touched.
