Steven dons his running shoes for MAGPAS

Paramedic Steven Humphrey from Huntingdon regularly finds himself working alongside Magpas air ambulance and  now he has decided it is time to give something back.

On 3rd September he will be taking part in the Nottingham half marathon alongside his brother-in-law, and hopes to raise as much funds as possible.

Steve said: “Magpas is not state funded and relies solely on donations to operate. I have worked alongside them on several occasions so have seen what fantastic work they do, and have also attended one of their trauma training sessions, so I feel like it’s time I gave something back.”

To prepare for the event Steve has already run several 10K runs this year, as well as a 15K a couple of weeks ago.

He added: “I feel fairly confident about the race. I think with big events such as this one you feed off of the crowd, so I’m hoping that will give me that extra 10 per cent.”

If you want to make a donation you can do so via Justgiving.
