Stevenage DLO to take part in daring skydive in memory of colleague

Vicky Lovelace, an acting Duty Locality Officer at Stevenage base will challenge herself to a tandem skydive in September this year.  She will be raising money for a The Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, where a colleague stayed while suffering from a brain tumour.

Much-loved EEAST EMT Nick Delgaudio, was admitted to The Garden House Hospice towards the end of his illness and sadly died last year.  Vicky has many fond memories of working with Nick and wanted to challenge herself and raise money for the hospice that cared for him.

Vicky said “Nick was a rough diamond, like Del Boy – a cheeky and fun person – everyone who was on shift with him loved working with him.  He was so good at his job he immediately put people at ease and he made the patients feel safe”

Vicky is challenging herself by taking on a skydive. She says “I have never done anything like this in my life. I am absolutely terrified,”  but her motivation is to raise money for the wonderful work that The Garden House Hospice do on a daily basis, and remember her friend and colleague, who is sadly missed by all who knew him.

Vicky plans to do a tandem skydive on 9th September. To sponsor her, visit mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/vickylovelace-collins1.
