Suffolk staff to take on gruelling sub-arctic challenge

A group of Suffolk staff are taking on a 110km sub-arctic trek in Sweden to raise money for the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS).

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and volunteer firefighter Martin Grove, Paramedic and coastguard Adam Wright and Critical Care Paramedic and SARS responder Rod Wells will all be trekking through forests, valleys and fighting off savage arctic mosquitoes.

The team will be flying out to northern Sweden in August and over four to five days be trekking through the arctic circle for 110km.

Martin said: “We are aiming to raise funds to purchase more specialised equipment that one day may save the life of one of your nearest and dearest. We are looking forward to it and ready for the challenge”.

To help Martin, Adam and Rod raise their target of £2,000 for SARS, please visit their JustGiving page.
