Supply shortages of adrenaline 1:1000 pre-filled syringes

Transparent EEAST crest

We’ve been notified of a supply shortage for adrenaline 1:1000 pre-filled syringes. As such, until the regular supplies of pre-filled syringes are restored, ampoules of adrenaline (also 1:1000) will be issued from stores instead.

The adrenaline will need to be manually drawn up from the ampoules, and administered via an IM route only. Please check carefully against your JRCALC guidelines when administering adrenaline to ensure the correct concentration and route for dosage. If you’re unsure, please remember to call the Clinical Advice Line on 07753 950843.

You can download the full clinical update internally from East24 and a copy will also have been emailed to your Trust email account. Wherever possible, we’d be really grateful if you could print and display a copy of the update on your station – thank you.
