Thank you, Layla!

Layla Mitchell, a Nursery Nurse, currently staying at home during the Covid-19 pandemic due to her being in a vulnerable group, has cycled from her home in Hemel Hempstead to Lands’ End (on a cycle bike at home) covering a distance of 320.1 miles. This meant that Layla had to cycle a gruelling 23 miles every day!

So far, she has raised £2,500 for the Trust. An incredible achievement, especially as Layla’s original target was £100!

Layla wanted to demonstrate her gratitude to the Trust, “I just wanted to thank every one of you for your hard work. Not just during the Covid 19 outbreak, but for every single day that you turn up for work.”

Layla’s generosity did not end there, as she also created large hampers filled with treats to support our staff. Layla was inundated with companies offering to help fill  the hampers, allowing her to create a staggering 24 hampers in all. This ensured that not only did our ambulance stations receive hampers, but also other emergency services, with Hemel Fire and Police stations enjoying the bounty, too!

Jonathan Perry, Assistant General Manager, Mid Hertfordshire, “The amount of effort and time this has taken Layla, not mention the hard graft is absolutely amazing. She has donated a tremendous amount of food and other goodies to staff at WHAS which we really appreciate.”

A huge thank you from us at EEAST to Layla for all her efforts. If you would like to support Layla, her fundraising page remains open until the 1stJune here.
