The future for ePCR: contract and use update

Toughbook

From today, we are providing staff with new information about changes being made to the eCPR contract and its use in the next 18 months to two years.

The current national contract is ending, and so a project is in place to implement a version upgrade. This will follow a review of content and presentation, and feedback about the current system and issues highlighted.

This version has been developed directly with the Trust, including streamlining a number of areas. There is work ongoing to produce a build we can use, and importantly test, within the Trust. A key part of this will be around the previous issues of connection and screen functionality, along with content itself.

The go-live for version 4 is planned between 27th June-8th July, with different areas starting to use the software at separate times. You will be updated locally as to when this will come into place in your area.

Online training will be available from the 20th May, including a video to demonstrate the upgrade to version 3 to 4. There will also be ‘power users’ trained in the upgrade who will be on station and/or hospital to assist when completing the first few records. There will also be documentation and guides available to provide additional support.

This implementation of improved software is an interim measure as the project team look to procure and provide a new overall system; this is a longer-term project and will be worked on once this version has been implemented. We will keep you informed and we will also be looking for people to get involved in developing the future product.

If you have any questions about these developments, please email epcrversion4@eastamb.nhs.uk.
