The future of Trust reporting

Future of Trust reporting

The Development and Informatics teams are continuously learning and developing new capabilities to improve the Trust’s digital transformation.

We are currently working alongside our Cloud Transformation partner, Version 1 to deliver a modern data warehouse architecture for the Trust.

This data warehouse will allow us to bring together all the Trust data at any scale and to get insights through analytical dashboards, operational reports, or advanced analytics.

Currently the production of core reports such as the Trust’s Integrated Board report requires a large amount of manual requesting and compilation of data from various departments around the Trust.

The main aim of this project is to facilitate centralised reporting from all these departments.

The initial phase of the project is focussed on the Trust’s Global Rostering System (GRS) and will primarily address the data to day reporting needs from the scheduling system. This will provide a shift from manually intensive reporting from the GRS system itself to on-demand, performant reporting directly from the new data warehouse in the Cloud.

The new system will leverage Cloud-scale Azure analytics services including Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Data Factory and should help to greatly improve data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting.

Once phase one is complete, we plan to look into integrating data from other departments such as PTS, Fleet, Workforce, Finance etc

We are all excited to see the benefits this new system will bring to our Trust reporting capabilities.
