The mini Beast from the East

Weather warnings for snow and ice have been issued for this weekend, which has been dubbed the ‘mini Beast from the East’.

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for snow and ice that begin from 6pm today (16th March) for Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

With snow showers continuing through the day Saturday, an additional yellow warning for snow and ice has been issued and an amber warning is in place for some central and southern areas of Essex.

During Sunday, further snow showers are expected across our region, with an ongoing risk of local disruption.

The Trust has plans in place to deal with bouts of unexpected and unpredicted extreme weather conditions.

Each locality area also has stocks of equipment and supplies for winter.

If you have difficulty getting into work owing to snow contact your line manager as the Trust may be able to arrange transport.

The Trust has two specialist HART teams who are able to respond in adverse conditions, which are based at Melbourn and Great Notley.

If you have any snow stories or pictures from the weekend, please email them to communcations@eastamb.nhs.uk
