The NHS in the spotlight

EEAST Lozenge and crest right aligned

The NHS has been in the spotlight this week following the extreme pressures on the whole system.

The Trust has been engaging positively with its communities, stakeholders and mainstream media with advice, guidance and information about the facts. You can find all the updates we release here:

The Trust understands that some headlines can be provocative, misleading and sometimes upsetting to our staff and if you have been affected by any of the news agenda, we urge you to speak and confide in your manager or the health and wellbeing team by contacting them on:

Journalists have also been spotted outside some hospitals and on other NHS properties and it is important Trust staff know they are always representing the ambulance service whenever they identify themselves as working for the Trust – whether in person or on social media. The communications team is on hand around the clock on 07500 121368 to provide support if any member of staff is approached for comment about the current winter pressures.

We are doing our best to ensure the Trust upholds its values, especially when it comes to protecting patients and in particular, by preserving their anonymity and dignity through absolute confidentiality.

Social media can be a challenging environment when the Trust is facing the extreme pressures it is currently under and staff are reminded of the social media policy and this advice about the dos and don’ts.
