Three CFRs from Norfolk presented with awards

Three volunteers have been recognised for their long-running commitment to saving lives in Norfolk.

Pete Davis, Rachel Hillier and Kevin Webster have a combined total of almost 30 years’ service as community first responders (CFR).

The life-saving trio were last week presented with chief officer commendations by Locality Director Matt Broad at a volunteer engagement event.

Pete started volunteering in 2004 in North Pickenham, near Swaffham. But after attending almost 1,200 emergencies, he had to stop last year as a result of ill health.

The retired milkman said: “I’m proud to have served the community after answering an advert in a newsletter. I have met some great friends over the years.”

Kevin co-ordinates the Wroxham and Hoveton CFR group that aims to provide cover 24/7. The group has attended more than 4,000 calls, including 100 cardiac arrests since 2007.

Rachel is co-ordinator of the Diss group, which was formed in 2009, and is also a volunteer administration assistant at Diss ambulance station.
