Tony Perry tribute

The Trust is deeply saddened to announce the death of our friend and colleague, Tony Perry, who was our Medicines Management Auditor based in Letchworth.

Dave Cunningham, our Head of Infection Prevention & Control, paid the following tribute:

"Tony was a loved and respected member of the medicines management team. He enjoyed going out round the stations and chatting to the staff and was very popular everywhere he went.

Tony had only worked with the Trust for a couple of years and loved his job and took great pride in the work that he had done to help the frontline crews do their jobs.

I remember Tony’s first day in the Trust, coming in to support the Infection, Prevention and Control (IPC) team. He had so many questions and we joked about him getting to grips with the many acronyms. He thought he’d never get his head around it all, but through his hard work and perseverance, it became second nature to Tony and everywhere he went he made new friends. He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed by us all."

Senior Pharmacy Technician, Amy Godfrey, added the following:

“Tony was a lovely, kind, genuine chap who couldn’t do enough to help his colleagues. When asked anything, he just wanted to help and to be kept busy. He was chatty, friendly and loved going out and visiting the stations and meeting new people. He will be missed greatly.”

Our thoughts are with Tony’s wife Deborah, their daughter and two sons, wider family and friends at this difficult time.
