Training for two national clinical trials

Breathing apparatus

Paramedics are invited to take part in training sessions for two national clinical trials, Airways-2 and RIGHT–2, that we are involved with.

The Airways-2 trial is evaluating the effectiveness of I-gel versus ET tube in a pre-hospital cardiac arrest situation. The results could dramatically improve care for patients who have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

The RIGHT-2 stroke trial is a two-year UK wide trial testing paramedic-led administration of GTN patches vs. sham patches for FAST positive patients. It is exploring whether lowering blood pressure at the acute onset of stroke (less than four hours) reduces death and disability.

The sessions will be taking place on the following dates and locations:

 Airways-2 training:

  • 26th July – Peterborough, 1-3pm
  • 27th July – Longwater depot, 1-3pm
  • 2nd August – Luton, 1-3pm
  • 24th August – Southend, 1-3pm
  • 31st August – Weeley, 1-3pm

Right-2 training:

  • 27th July – Longwater depot, 12-1pm

If you would like to book a place, please email helen.hall@eastamb.nhs.uk.
