Trust developing paramedic degree programme

The Trust is working with several universities to develop a three year Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in paramedic science.

Students from these programmes will join EEAST for their practical placement experience whilst undertaking the course.

EEAST is working with the University of Hertfordshire, University of East Anglia (UEA), University of Bedfordshire, University Campus Suffolk and Anglia Ruskin University to construct the course, for students to start in September. In the near future, we’ll be looking for paramedics to mentor these students so if you are interested, look out for details in Need to Know soon.

This is a fantastic development to create the paramedics of the future that will graduate from 2017 onwards. It combines learning the most up to date clinical knowledge in the university setting with the practical experience of treating patients whilst on placement with EEAST.

It is hoped that 200 students will be recruited to the degree programme in the next academic year.
