Trust looking for new Apprentice EMTs

The Trust is actively looking at alternative pathways to develop staff and have been awarded apprenticeship employer provider status which will allow us to develop clinical and non-clinical career pathways as a result of this change.

We are pleased to confirm that the first role we plan to recruit as an apprenticeship is EMT. This means that any new recruits or staff undertaking this career pathway will be aligned to an Apprenticeship Standard. We will shortly be going putting out an advert to attract new starters as well as opening the opportunity to existing staff.

The first Apprentice EMT course will commence in September 2018 in Newmarket. Currently a further 4 are planned in for January 2019, one in each training centre (Newmarket, Chelmsford, Norwich and WGC). Existing staff who may be interested in pursuing this route will be asked to submit an expression of interest and attend an assessment day on 7th July, in Bury St Edmunds. In order to ensure a fair and consistent process we will work with our operations colleagues to assign places and limit the impact on the service.
