A team of volunteers in Cambridgeshire from the Somersham & Pidley Time Bank have been busy knitting Twiddlemuffs to help support EEAST care for people who have dementia.

On Thursday 28th November, three Time Bank volunteers Katie Ixer, Annie Clements and Charlie Clapham met with EEAST Paramedics Lesley Hall and John Hargreaves to hand over two large bags of handmade Twiddlemuffs.

They met at St. Ives ambulance station in Cambridgshire where Annie and Charlie explained a little more about the benefits of the Time Bank group.

They also explained how they had seen the benefits of the Twiddlemuffs at first hand, after sharing them with local friends and hearing how the Twiddlemuffs they had made provided soothing and calming distraction for loved ones with dementia.

Since then the group have expanded their efforts and now publicise their support for EEAST and dementia care on their website.

A huge thank you to Katie, Annie and Charlie and all the TimeBank volunteers for their donation.
