Update on court hearing

Transparent EEAST crest

A former EEAST employee appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on 11th November, in connection with the alleged rape and sexual assault of a number of women.

He was bailed to stand trial at Cambridge Crown Court on 11th May. EEAST will not be making any further public statement while criminal proceedings are ongoing.

As mentioned on Need To Know last month, we recognise that this could be uncomfortable for many of his former colleagues and patients. It is also possible that other allegations may come to light, as a result of the charges being made public.

We would encourage anyone with concerns in relation to these allegations, to call a dedicated number for volunteers, public and staff on 01603 481225 at any time, or call police on 01480 422567.
