Update from Anthony Marsh - 13th November 2014

Chief Executive Dr Anthony Marsh

Tomorrow we will celebrate the best thing about the ambulance service; our dedicated and brilliant staff and volunteers. This awards ceremony is not just about those on our frontline, it will recognise the achievements of every department of the organisation. I will be presenting awards for corporate services, for non-emergency and primary care, for frontline support and for voluntary services. We will also be celebrating the individual member of staff who has won the prestigious staff choice award; a person that was nominated by a colleague earlier this year.

I have brought back the staff awards ceremony as it is my most important priority to support you. It is good to celebrate your successes, in front of colleagues, stakeholders, members of the public, emergency service partners and the media. I also have a long list of Chief Officer Commendations that demonstrates how you have gone above and beyond the normal expectations. I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow evening in Hertfordshire at what will be a real celebration of your achievements this year.

I am also extremely proud of everyone who took part in a Remembrance Sunday service and would like to thank you for giving up your time to take part; you represented the Trust admirably. There are many other instances of staff who have gone the extra mile in this week’s Need to Know, including CFR Dave Spiceley and our Complex Patient Support Lead David Sexby. Thank you for what you are doing every day and in the extraordinary day; your efforts are hugely appreciated, as always.
