Update from Anthony Marsh - 2nd July 2015

Last night we held our long service and excellence awards at Trinity Park in Ipswich, Suffolk.

It was a superb evening of celebrating the achievements of our staff and volunteers and I was delighted to share this with guests from fellow emergency services, representatives from Suffolk and Ipswich council, as well as other partners and colleagues. As always, it made me extremely proud to meet our staff who have worked here for 20, 25 and 35 years; our volunteers who have given up 10 years of their own time for the Trust and to present my Chief Officer commendations, for those who have gone beyond what is expected of them in their role.

It is these achievements that make the ambulance service such a worthwhile place to work – how many of your friends or family have colleagues who have stayed in the same organisation for 35 years or know a volunteer who has saved someone’s life? I am honoured to be part of the organisation that saves so many lives every year, and to work alongside such admirable and dedicated people. Our commitment to consistently delivering high standards of patient care was evident last night and I would like to thank everyone who attended and represented the Trust so well. Very many congratulations to all the award recipients and their husbands, wives, partners and families.

To end I would like to urge you all to look after yourself during what is an extremely hot week and to make use of the supply of bottled water which has been provided to you at stations. It is extremely important to keep hydrated and ensure you are taking extra care to keep cool whilst working.
