#ProjectA is now about to enter its second year of operation so here is the latest update from NHS Horizons.

The aim of #ProjectA is to improve NHS ambulance services using ideas and feedback directly from frontline ambulance staff nationwide. The project was commissioned directly by Simon Stevens, Chief Executive of NHS England & Improvement.

The initial stage of the programme (July to September 2018) generate 208 ideas for improvement which have now developed into three improvement collaboratives.

In 2019/20 the specific areas of focus for #ProjectA are:

  1. Action on falls
  2. Action on staff wellbeing
  3. Action on responding to people in mental health crisis and emotional distress
  4. A directory of ideas for improvement

In addition to the above, the programme team for #ProjectA are keen to contribute to the following areas:

  • Virtual collaboration
  • Development of an Ambulance Quality Improvement Network
  • Working in new ways
  • Evidence based research (impact)

The #ProjectA programme is expected to continue for a further two years.

If you would like to help with #ProjectA and support improvement across the ambulance services, please get in touch with the team on lynsey.oates@nhs.net or i.baines@nhs.net or our Trust link Dan Ralevic. Alternatively, keep an eye out for #ProjectA on Twitter.
