Updates from the Rostering Services Team

One of our current projects is to look at how we report rostering information such as absence levels and patient facing hours. In the past, this information has been limited to accessing reports through the Global Rostering Service (GRS) software, or the team emailing report to managers, but no more!

The trust has now invested in the creation of a Data Lake which will allow us to pull information from GRS and create automated reports that can be run without having to access the GRS system; these reports will be quicker and easier to view.

We are fortunate to be the first team to be able to put data into this Data Lake and have now, with the aid of Version 1, created our first reports for managers across the trust. These first reports are:

  • An overview of the number of hours for staff absences
  • The amount of 3rd manning hours we have planned
  • A view of the number of hours staff are working on an alternate role
  • A report giving a breakdown ofour front-line cover by vehicle type

We are currently finalising the last few edits to these reports and hope to have them published over the next few weeks.

This is an exciting time for the team. We are undertaking training programs to up-skill ourselves so that we will be able to create and publish new reports for you from this data lake - the aim being for this area to become the go-to point for all GRS information needs.
