Upgrade to smartcard system this weekend

Transparent EEAST crest

A new management system for Trust smartcards will go live between 19th – 23rd February.

This is the national system that enables us to manage and produce smartcards for all users across the Trust.

Between the 19th and 23rd we will not be able to print, unlock or renew smartcards. The actual switch-over is due to take place at 7.30pm on Saturday (21st February) which may result in a disruption lasting a few seconds or up to five minutes.

Temporary access cards have been given to key areas of the organisation including 111, primary care and commercial services, which can be used in exceptional circumstances if a user locks their card or requires certificate renewal over the weekend.

If you do experience disruption on Saturday evening, please log out for a few minutes and log back in. The national plan is that if the new system fails to work after five minutes, the old system will be switched back on.

You can report any issues using the IT service desk as normal.
