Vehicle security

EEAST RRVs and amb on scene

Given the recent terrorist events in the UK and the current threat level being at severe, which means that a terrorist attack is highly likely, this week we take a look at vehicle security and what we should all be doing to protect our safety and those of the public.

Marked vehicles are a potential target for criminals so it is vital vehicles are kept secure at all times.  Simply put, following these simple steps will help us maintain safety and security:

  • if you are away from your vehicle make sure it is locked at all times.
  • Make sure keys to vehicles are secured safely in stations, work shops and offices.
  • If you see anything suspicious report it to EOC, the anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321, dial 999 if it is an emergency or 101 if it is not an emergency.
  • Make a note of the registration number of any suspicious vehicles and report them.
  • Do not leave high visibility coats and other uniform on display in private vehicles.
  • When travelling to and from work please wear a jacket or other item which covers the Trust insignia and/or rank markings

Together we can help make sure we remain safe and secure. Thank you for your continued help and support.
