Vehicle vandalised in Sudbury

Sudbury vehicle damage May 2015

Staff are being urged to be vigilant after a rapid response vehicle (RRV) was vandalised in Suffolk at the weekend.

An investigation has been launched after a sharp object was placed under the wheel of the RRV in Sudbury.

The incident happened between 1.30am and 5.30am on Saturday (9th May) after a man was seen acting suspiciously outside the station in Acton Lane.

However, when he drove off, one of the vehicle’s tyres was punctured and the damage was immediately reported.

The incident put the RRV out of action until just after 1pm on Saturday when the damage was repaired.

Suffolk Police have begun inquiries into the offence of causing danger to road users and are appealing for information.

Staff are requested to be extra vigilant when using Sudbury station as a standby point and if they witness any suspicious activity in the area, they should report it to the police immediately.
