VIDEO: new student paramedics join the team in Essex

Chelmsford student paramedics

Ambulance patients will soon be seeing the next generation of lifesavers hit the road with Essex’s first student paramedic course well underway.

The 16 students are in their fourth week at our Chelmsford training centre, and make up some of the 400 student paramedics we’re recruiting. So far 97 people are on courses across the region, and more than 200 offers have been made.

This week the group have been getting to grips with pharmacology, looking at the drugs they’ll be able to give to patients and how to administer them, before they had their first exam yesterday (19th June).

Student Kieran said: “The course is moving at a fast pace and we’ve done a lot of practical work which has been really good. Getting used to being back in the classroom has probably been the most difficult bit but the whole experience has been very positive; there’s a lot of good energy about where the Trust is going so we’re happy to be a part of it.”

And now you can watch the video!
