Volunteers Week 2019: Chaplains

Volunteers Week 2019 - Chaplains

Did you know the Trust has a team of independent chaplains?

Our chaplains working within EEAST provide pastoral and emotional support, when requested, to all levels of staff volunteers and their families.

Anything said to one of our chaplains is confidential and will only be revealed to others with the person’s express permission or if the law requires it.

As one of the Trust’s volunteer groups, the chaplains give up their time to the ambulance service. They respond when needed, whatever time that may be and are prepared to meet staff wherever and whenever necessary.

Dave Fountain, Deputy Director of Service Delivery said: “Over the past few months our Trust has experienced some very difficult times losing a number of young and well respected staff. Our Chaplaincy has provided close support and comfort to family, friends and colleagues connected with these very sad events.

“Our Chaplains are always available and regularly attend stations to provide support to our ambulance family.”

As a Trust, we are working to ensure that all of our staff, regardless of creed, race etc have access to the spiritual support they might choose/ need.
