Watford SP in the running for half marathon

A student paramedic based in Watford is gearing up for his first half marathon to raise money for charity.

Luke, who is in second year of training, will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday, 4th October to raise money and awareness for the Huntington’s Disease Association.

Luke said: “I’ll be running the 13.1 miles with three other friends. The charity is close to my heart as my 20-year-old cousin has been diagnosed with the disease and knows only too well the challenges it brings.

“This is my first half marathon, so I’m quite excited and nervous about it. It’s a real challenge! After my first three mile training run I thought I may have to call an ambulance! I'm now up to 11 miles for my long training run so am quietly confident I'll make it round on the day”.

Luke is stepping up the training, fitting in runs between 12-hour shifts!
