Weather warnings issued for east of England

Transparent EEAST crest

The Met Office has issued warnings of strong winds for the region, which are set to stay in place until 8pm tomorrow (Thursday, 23rd).

The very strongest winds are expected to be short-lived, but we could experience gusts of 70 to 80mph for a while, with winds of 60 to 70mph occurring over a longer period of time.

Storm Doris will also bring some heavy rain for a time, adding some surface water to what could be challenging travelling conditions during tomorrow (Thursday). Based on the latest indications, and as a general guide for the east of England, the strongest winds are expected late morning tomorrow in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, and during the afternoon and early evening in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. Winds are expected to gradually ease across tomorrow evening and into Friday morning.

If you are working or travelling tomorrow please take care, and allow extra time for your journey.
