Well done to new ACAs and PTDs

Congratulations to a new group of Ambulance Care Assistants (ACAs) and Patient Transport Drivers (PTDs) who have passed their training.

Ten ACAs and two PTDs completed their two week course which included FPOS Basic, dementia awareness, moving and handling people and equipment, safeguarding, IPC, conflict resolution and radio training.

The group are now in driver training after which, they will be out on the road.

Trevor Hammond, NES Training and Development Manager, said: “I am proud to see everyone pass their training. The effort put in by all the members of the group during the two weeks is truly impressive.”

“A big thank you to Des White for doing an excellent job with running the course and to Claire Long and Martin Armstrong for helping Des over the two weeks.

“This course also marked the final course for Martin Armstrong. Martin has been within PTS for many years, and in the final decade he dedicated his time to shape PTS training to what it is today, so a big heartfelt thank you from all of us within PTS and good luck for the future.”
