What do you think of EEAST's culture?

Visions and values pic

We are determined to improve our culture; as you will have read in Need to Know over the last few months, we have been working to develop a cultural audit to look at the best way we can do that.

With considerable experience in evidencing culture change not just in the NHS, but specifically ambulance services, company Zeal Solutions were chosen to carry out the audit. It specialises in psychological health and general wellbeing in the workplace, so can provide a lot of valuable expertise.

So far, we’ve held focus groups of staff and managers to identify what key themes we need to explore when it comes to our culture. The feedback gained from those, along with information from the NHS staff survey, previous Trust surveys and CQC reports, have now been pulled together into a culture survey – and we’ll be asking everyone to take the time to answer it.

The culture survey, due on 12th April, will be sent to home addresses to make sure it reaches everyone in the Trust and we’re asking for it to be completed and returned within a month (deadline 12th May).

Importantly, it’s completely anonymous; you’ll have the chance to add in comments when you’re filling it in, and everyone’s views will be taken into account. After all, every one of us is part of the culture. This is a genuine step towards identifying the changes our Trust needs.

The results will be shared openly with staff, Unison, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and our stakeholders - and we will keep all of you updated on progress here on Need to Know.
