What is clinical waste?

Last month, we shared the news that the way we dispose and manage clinical waste is changing soon.

The change to the system will mean new waste bags for all vehicles. This will bring us in line with legislation, national guidelines and keep us up to date with best practice.

The team are in the process of developing the new system, and want to demystify any misunderstanding you may have when it comes to clinical waste.

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing some guidance with you on separating clinical waste, and what should be disposed of where.

This week, we will be looking at the definitions and examples of clinical waste. Subjects touched upon in this article will be expanded upon in the next couple of weeks.

We’ve put together a guidance sheet, which can be printed and displayed on stations.
