What’s new in the Commercial Training Team

The Commercial Training Team has recently expanded to include six staff running new training products – and have a new phone number and office.

The team engages with businesses, individuals and organisations to provide them with emergency first aid and other training which is charged for with the aim to put more money back into the Trust.

What you also may not know:

• The team administration and office is in Hellesdon but trainers work around the region
• Basic life support, AED/defibrillator training, first aid at work, emergency first aid at work, intermediate life support, first person on scene (basic and intermediate), moving and handling, police firearms medic, fire safety and more are on the prospectus, along with all the usual re-qualifications and refreshers
• Customers are trained in their workplace or our stations
• They sell AEDs and cabinets to businesses, parish councils and any group who are interested in becoming a Public Access Defibrillator site
• Tailored training can be offered
• The Trust is a member of the NHS Ambulance Service First Aid Training (NASFAT)

As they expand the new emergency clinical training business coming in, the team are looking for associate commercial trainers to be based all over the region, to deliver emergency first aid and other training. You need the PTTLS qualification or level 3 teaching and assessing qualification.

The team are visiting three locations early next month (January) so that anyone interested in the opportunities can drop in and learn more:

• Colchester Station (the Meeting Room Halstead Road, Colchester, Essex. CO3 9AG ) – Tuesday 3^rd January. 10am until 3pm
• Newmarket Training Centre (Tulip House, Craven Court, Willie Snaithe Road, Newmarket CB8 7FA (we will be in the first room on the left as you go in) – Wednesday 4^th January. 10am until 3pm
• Hellesdon Station (the Commercial Training Offices, next to the old Fleet office) – Thursday 5^th January. 10am until 3pm
• Hellesdon Station (the Commercial Training Offices, next to the old Fleet office)  – Friday 6^th January. 10am until 3pm.

The big challenge for the team is improve people’s knowledge that ambulance service first aid training is available to any organisation, so will be running a takeover week for the service soon with support from the Communications team to raise the profile within the Trust and outside.
