Where does clinical waste go?

RRV with blurred paramedic

For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been looking at the way we dispose and manage clinical waste.

Although this is changing soon, it’s so important we understand today what the current guidelines and best practice are when it comes to separating waste.

After looking at ‘what is clinical waste’ and ‘how a patient’s infection can affect how we separate waste’, the final guidance sheet covers what should go where. It includes a handy flowchart, which can be printed and displayed on stations.

If you have any queries about the guidance sheet, please contact the team by emailing estates.waste@eastamb.nhs.uk.
