Winter vaccine campaign 2021

Boost your immunity this winter

The latest JCVI and Government guidance has been released about winter planning for the country including its plans for vaccinations for Health and Social Care Workers and those clinically vulnerable.

The Trust will be embarking on its annual Flu vaccination program from late September/early October with a view to providing every member of staff within EEAST protection against the Flu Virus. This is expanding the criteria from Health and Social Care Workers (HSCW) to include all members of EEAST as we feel it is important to protect all our workforce.

Alongside the annual flu campaign, this year, we are proud to be continuing our support of the National Covid vaccination program for protecting our staff and patients against Covid-19. The National program is now entering phase 3 whereby a booster vaccination is being offered to Health and Social Care Workers and those clinically vulnerable alongside the Flu campaign.

As a Trust we felt it important to ensure equity of access to the booster program so alongside the Flu campaign, we will be undertaking additional Covid-19 clinics for those staff unable to access this through the National program. Any member of EEAST staff or registered volunteer will be eligible to have a Covid-19 booster jab.
