Working safely during Covid reminder

COVID 19 New

Government guidance on making workplaces Covid secure are still in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

There has been a large increase in the amount of food sharing at Trust locations over the last couple of weeks. Staff are reminded that no sharing of food and drink should take place in the workplace, this includes bringing in birthday cakes and ordering take away food to share.

There have been incidences where members of staff have had to be stood down due to contact from food sharing. As well as putting staff members and their families at risk of contracting Covid-19, this can also have a detrimental affect on our service delivery.

We would also like to remind staff that they should continue to wear face masks in cabs and on Trust sites. As the country begins to see a reduction in lockdown measures, it is important to remain vigilant to keep the number of new cases of Covid-19 down.

Our Covid Marshalls will continue to conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with Working Safely Guidance and are already reporting good practices in areas such as Chelmsford AOC who displayed very good wiping down practices of desks between users and screens, one-way systems etc being improved in several areas.
