Workshop opportunity: diversity in the ambulance service

Blurred ambulance

We treat patients from all walks of life on a day to day basis, but how often do we think about diversity in our own workforce?

NHS Health Education England is running a ‘Promoting ethnic diversity in paramedic education and the profession’ event this month to look at exactly that, and help those in the ambulance service learn best practice so they can encourage diverse and talented staff to join their trust.

Venue: Leicester Marriott Hotel, Smith Way, Grove Park, Enderby, Leicester, LE19 1SW.

Date: 29th July

Time: 9.30am-4pm

A mixture of lectures from diversity experts and hands-on workshops, the event will cover everything from equality challenges, research and leadership to the NHS equality and diversity framework and the standards it aspires to.

Our own Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, Navrita, will be running one of the workshops, and says she would love to see some of our staff there: “This is a great opportunity to learn from the experience of others and draw in on best practice.”

Attendees will also have the chance to feed into discussions around and give their ideas about the next steps forward for equality and diversity in healthcare.
