Welcome to your new Need to Know

It’s here – welcome to the launch of your new Need to Know website!

We are delighted to share our newly redesigned site with you; following a staff survey last year, more than 80% of respondents said they would use a rolling news site aimed just at EEAST staff – so this is what we’ve created.

You can still access Need to Know from any internet connection – meaning you can view it from a home or Trust computer, on a tablet or smart phone, or even via the Toughbook on vehicles. The link will always stay the same (http://ntk.eastamb.nhs.uk), so please save it as a shortcut for easy access!

Need to Know has also become a 24/7 rolling news site (similar to how BBC News Online works), meaning new articles will appear every day – so please check it whenever you can. The internal communications team will still send an email to you every Thursday highlighting the top stories from the past week, but checking it daily will mean you get the information as it happens. We’ll also be sending a short summary of the weekly news to station managers to display on stations – so you can read it in hard copy if you’d prefer.

So what’s new?

To start, we’ve streamlined our menus to give you quick access to the items you’re looking for, and improved the search facility so you can search for certain topics or keywords. We’ve also introduced an ‘archive’ system, meaning you can easily go back and find an article you might have missed.

You’ll also see that we’ve introduced a new section called ‘lighter bites’ which will cover things like staff charity events, retirements and stories from our community first responders. There’s also a Twitter feed that shows you, live, what we’re saying on social media.

We invite you to start exploring! We have tried to make all previous links active and point to the equivalent or relevant information. However, due to the significant changes in the website architecture, we know there may be digital ‘hiccups’ and you may experience virtual road blocks along the way. This is where we need your help!
