Essex CFRs to receive local ‘unsung heroes’ award

Congratulations to the Manningtree Community First Responders (CFRs) who are to be honoured at the Pride of Tendring awards next month.

The group of CFRs will be one of 17 to receive an award, dedicated to the hard work they do in the community, on Friday, 5th February.

The awards are run by Tendring District Council with support of the Clacton, Frinton and Walton Gazette and the Harwich and Manningtree Standard.

Tendring councillors were given the chance to put forward their own nominations earlier in the year; the nomination for the responders was put forward by Councillor Andy Baker.

The 24 responders cover the area of Lawford, Manningtree, Mistley, Bradfield, Little Bentley and Wix.

First Responder Kate Williams said: “We're absolutely over the moon to be have been nominated for the Pride of Tendring awards! Thank you to everyone in the group for your hard work and dedication and to our trainers Kevin, Claire and Aaron from the Trust for all their support and guidance.

“Thank you also to Councilor Andy Baker!”
