Miles’ close shave for charity

Paramedic Miles from Longwater has lost his locks raising more than £160 for Macmillan Cancer Support – a charity close to his heart.

Miles, who has been working for the Trust since 2000, decided to brave the shave last month in memory of his uncle who lost his battle with cancer last year.

He said: “Macmillan had set up the entire event and they had looked after my uncle as well as several family friends. I decided that it was an ideal way to raise money for and awareness of the great work they do. The shave itself went very well and I had plenty of support from friends and family.

“I think that these fundraisers are not for everyone but there is something that we all can do to raise money for good causes and I would encourage anyone who wishes to, to go for it in their own unique way.”
