Survey for all staff: your views wanted on late finishes, wellbeing and morale

Transparent EEAST crest

Over the last few months, we have been working closely with our people, including union colleagues, to develop ideas to reduce late finishes. We absolutely recognise the impact late finishes is having on you and addressing the issue remains an absolute priority – ambulance services across the UK are facing similar problems but we have already taken proactive steps to tackle the issue.

That said, tackling late finishes is not easy and we all know that there’s no one solution which will solve the problem. We also need to balance staff welfare and maintaining our response to those patients who need us urgently. Therefore we are introducing incremental changes – one of which has been the trialling of a pilot where frontline crews can call EOC in the last hour of their shift and offer to take a Green or Urgent call.

It is important that each step is evaluated to make sure it is having the desired effect for both staff and patients – which is why we’re asking you to complete a quick survey for us.

Regardless of whether you work in a patient-facing role or in support services, we’d really like you to take part – the survey asks some questions about what the biggest issues affecting you and your wellbeing at the moment, and it’s really important we hear what you have to say.

We are working hard to make this a better place to work, and your feedback is going to give us evidence about the scale and shape of what’s working for you as well as some of the problems.

Thank you for your time, and for your feedback. We’ll report back on what you said in the next few weeks via Need to Know.
