A picture is worth a thousand words

Instagram Rainbow Banner

On 1st February we are launching our latest social media tool help keep our followers as up close to the action as possible. We’re joining the popular photo sharing app - Instagram!

Instagram is photo and video sharing platform that is a fast and fun way for us to share the images and videos from behind the scenes about the jobs we do and how an ambulance service works.

How can staff and volunteers get involved?

It’s easy! You can follow us on Instagram - http://instagram.com/eastenglandamb/.

The app is free and is available for both iPhone and Android. Once you have the downloaded the app, you can find us by simply searching for ‘eastenglandamb’.

We know we have many talented and budding photographers out there, so staff can submit their photos to us which they would like us to put out. You can email them to us via webteam@eastamb.nhs.uk or simply tag your pictures #InstaEEAST and we will re-gram our favourites.

Things to consider when taking photos:

  • patient confidentiality must be paramount at all times. No identifiable pictures of patients are allowed. This can include identifying someone by their address, location or vehicle
  • it is appropriate to be taking the photo? Consider the incident and how people may view an emergency services member of staff taking a picture
  • please do not include anything that could offend people or is against good taste or decency
  • if you are taking a picture including staff or volunteers, make sure you ask their permission first.

All photos will be reviewed before posting to check that images are suitable and don’t bring the Trust or staff into disrepute. Please refer to the Trust’s use of digital media (including social media and/or networking sites) policy for more information.
