Airway management refreshers and 121 coaching available

Airway.

It’s the A of our ABCDEs and the priority for any patient we see – in simple terms, without a managed and maintained airway, there’s little point in us doing the rest.

We might class ‘airway’ as one of the basics, but in reality, it can be complicated. With everything from a good head-tilt-chin-lift to advanced airways falling under the ‘airway’ umbrella, there is a lot to remember.

Throughout November we’re taking a more detailed look at cardiac arrest care, and across the month we’re offering free, personalised, airway management drop-in sessions.

Supported and facilitated by a Trust education and training officer, the CPD sessions will be structured around your personal learning or refresher needs, meaning you can pop by and talk about anything airway related – from the simple to the advanced.

Open to all colleagues and volunteers, it’s an opportunity to refresh on theory or actual practical technique – whatever works for you!

Confirmed sessions are:

  • 15th November, Chelmsford training centre, 10am-12pm and 1-3pm
  • 17th November, Norwich training centre, 10am-12pm and 1-3pm
  • 21st November, Newmarket training centre, 10am-12pm and 1-3pm

There’s no need to book (just drop in!), and personalised certificates and learning logs will be issued to attendees. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email clinical.leads@eastamb.nhs.uk.

We hope to see some of you there!
